La asociación civil fue constituida en abril de 2018 sin fines de lucro, por un grupo de destacados profesionales que preocupados por el hundimiento y subsidencia de la cuenca del Valle de México, fundaron 2050 El equilibrio hidrológico cuenta para Integrar un Programa Estratégico de Gestión Sostenible del Acuífero del Valle de México.
Nuestros objetivos
1. Promover entre la población la prevención y control de la contaminación del agua, del aire y del suelo, la protección al ambiente y la preservación y restauración del equilibrio ecológico.
2. Promover la elaboración de planes, programas, estrategias y proyectos dirigidos a equilibrar hidrológicamente el Valle de México y aminorar la subsidencia, así como apoyar a los diferentes agentes involucrados (Gobierno, Academia y Sociedad) para su implementación efectiva.
3. Generar redes de apoyo para el estudio y análisis del problema del equilibrio hidrológico del Valle de México y de la subsidencia con universidades, institutos de investigación, asociaciones, colegios, etc., que tengan relación con esta asociación.

Misión
Coadyuvar al desarrollo de una estrategia y promover su implantación para lograr la sustentabilidad hídrica y reducir sustancialmente la subsidencia del Valle de México.
Visión
Un Valle de México en vías de asegurar la sustentabilidad hídrica y reducir la subsidencia, con la participación activa de la sociedad y los tres órganos de gobierno, siendo referente para otras cuencas.
